Chushinji Temple Competition, One of the top 5 entries
 
    The project is the proposal for a competition redesigning an inhabited part in 550-year-old Zen-Temple built on a hill facing to Ina basin, Nagano Prefecture. The objectives were to redesign a temple with a surrounding environment as "common" platform by wrapping semi-outdoor space where invert private into common with arched facade. The structure containing a meeting space underneath multilayering RC concrete shell structure, and large 3 private space above the shell forms open platform which connect a main building of a temple and a surrounding mountain slope.
