| The project is the proposal for
the international competition designing Hong Kong Design Institute on an
oceanfront area surrounded by high-rise housing complexes. The project proposes
a voluminous porous-space which maximally contains a wide variety of outdoor
space which adapts to required 4200u studios, lecture rooms, laboratories,
and amenities for students and teachers: the outdoor space is distinguished
from "areas" and will be "untitled space" which permits
unlimited variety of activities. Inner courtyards and raised gardens improve
interior conditions and form department-clusters as a dynamic learning environment.
