| The tower bungalow at Kuma-village,
Kuma Distinct, Kumamoto City, Japan. The project proposes to hollow out
plywood sheets and stack to an elevation of 8.8m on a squared area of 3.6m
on a side: the tower involves narrow interspace for sleeping, LDK, a library,
and stairs. 30-degree tilted plywood sheets generate incident daylight and
reflex and deflects the light using acrylic sheets. Structurally post tensioned
stainless wires extrude to the foundation to support the structure with
wather-resistant glue and rebars extended from the foundation. location: Kuma-mura/Kumamoto/JAPAN principal use: bungalow site area: 42m2 building area: 12.96m2 total floor area: 32.09m2 structure: S+W |
