| The project is the 3rd prized
proposal for the international competition, Gyeonggi-do Jeongok Prehistory
Museum. The project proposes to transform the site into an interpark for
visitors and a residents in the center of masterplan which includes Prehistoric
Site, Outdoor Exhibition, Amusement Park, History Culture Village. The building will be a landmark or a destination engaging passengers without spoiling the existing landscape. In order to minimize environmental impacts and respecting local land features, a volume of the building follows contour of the land with row layer. By wrapping the existing natural landscape in a sequence of terraced museum, covered with light coming through the horizontally spreading translucent roof, the building, the site, and visitors will blend in single flow without an intensive-physical boundary. The visitors will experience diverse activities in the open landscape which is gently divided by short vertical intervals and slopes. location: Jeongok-ri/Yeoncheon-gun/KOREA principal use: museum site area: 63,606.64m2 building area: 6,400m2 total floor area: 7,200m2 structure: S |
